Split your wager between the half-points on either side (moneyline and -1.5 for a -1, or -2.5 and -3.5 for a -3) so a push-margin win refunds your full stake — exactly like a real push. How it works
A whole-number spread like -1 or -3 wins when your team covers, pushes (refunds your stake) when they win by exactly that number, and loses otherwise. If your book only offers the half-points on either side, you can build the whole number yourself from those two bets: the looser line (the moneyline for a -1, or -2.5 for a -3) and the tighter line (-1.5, or -3.5).
The trick: size the looser ticket so its profit exactly covers the tighter ticket on a push-margin win. In that spot the looser line cashes, the tighter line loses, and you walk away with exactly what you started with — a synthetic push. Cover and both tickets cash; lose and both tickets lose, just like the real line.
